After failing to take official action on a Special Use Permit during their February meeting, the Islands Planning Commission will hold a special called meeting at 6:00 tonight in the Historic Courthouse in Brunswick to finish the process and comply with the zoning ordinance. The IPC voted on a motion to approve the permit for the Forbes Farm event venue on Lawrence Rd. on St. Simons, but it failed on a 3-4 vote resulting in no action. The IPC should have followed up with a second motion to deny the permit. Noting the lack of action during their meeting last Thursday, the Glynn County Commission remanded the Special Use Permit application back to the IPC.
